Everyday products, designed with purpose.

I ship
products.
Mine, and
yours.

Paulégoné is a product development company — design, engineering, manufacturing, and the parts most designers don't touch. Twenty-two years across consumer electronics, sporting goods, agriculture, and medical accessories. I ship products under my own brand, and I take on contract work for others doing the same.

01 / Products

Built and shipped under my own brand.

I don't only design products for clients. I invent, engineer, manufacture, sell, and support my own — the same playbook, with my own skin in the game. It's the difference between a designer who hands off files and a partner who knows what happens after he leaves the building.

02 / Work

Shipped for others.

The same playbook, applied to other people's brands. Four selected from a longer career, each chosen to demonstrate a distinct capability — from concept-to-shelf appliance work, to flagship consumer electronics, to sole-contributor execution at scale. Most are still on shelves today.

FireBoard Ring Drive Smoker Conversion
01 / 04Concept → Manufacturing

FireBoard

Ring Drive Smoker Conversion

FireBoard's first appliance product — a 360° air-delivery system that converts a standard 22" charcoal grill into a full smoker. Conceived, prototyped, designed, tested, and brought through manufacturing as sole contributor. Combines extruded and stretch-formed aluminum, stamped sheet metal, and injection molding.

UbeCube

03 / Services

A whole-arc capability set.

Engage me for any single phase, or for the full arc from a napkin sketch to a manufactured product on retail shelves. Most of my clients work with me across multiple phases because the handoffs are where products usually go wrong.

01 / 04

Industrial Design & Concept

Form, function, ergonomics, and brand language. I design products people want to pick up and that solve the real problem — informed by 22 years of knowing what survives manufacturing and what doesn't.

02 / 04

Engineering for Manufacturing

Mechanical engineering with deep working knowledge of materials and processes — injection molding, overmolding, IML, sonic welding, compressed silicone, EVA, sheet metal, forging, blow molding, extrusion. I design parts that are buildable.

03 / 04

Sourcing & Supplier Coordination

Supplier identification, sample management, tooling oversight, and pre-production troubleshooting. I bring established relationships and the ability to read a manufacturer's quote and DFM feedback like a translator.

04 / 04

Productization for Inventors

For independent inventors and small teams: a structured path from concept to a manufacturer-ready product with IP protection, prototype validation, and a sourcing plan. Designed to reduce the typical risk and capital exposure of a first product.

04 / About

One multi-tool operator. Twenty-two years.

"I've been called a Swiss Army Knife by every employer where I was the sole product person on staff."

Paulégoné is a product development company built around Paul Skelton — a 22-year industrial designer and product engineer who has worked across corporate, agency, startup, and freelance, in nearly every role on the product development chain.

The positioning is unusual on purpose: most product designers stop at CAD. I take products all the way through manufacturing, supplier coordination, and — for my own brands — into retail, advertising, and customer support. That whole arc is the work, and I know which decisions early in design will cost or save money in production three years later.

SoftCrutch is shipping. PocketPans is in validation. Other product concepts are at varying stages. The pipeline informs the contract work in both directions: I bring the discipline of running my own retail to client engagements, and what I learn from clients sharpens what I build under my own brand.
